I’ve had a variety of odd setbacks, but I’ve taken on a couple of commissions for the fall and winter. I’m revamping my sewing (and doll display) space so that it will allow for more storage this weekend, and I should be able to make some patterns and mockups for the projects in the next few days.

On the slate for the season:
A Regency Men’s Outfit (Colonel Brandon from Sense and Sensibility to be specific) for the DIM Minimee body. Some time ago, I endeavored to do this project for my own doll, on a much taller body, and got as far as the broadfall trousers before I became overwhelmed with school. So I’m quite excited about it, and I already have some of the patterning done. I’ll have quite a lot of alteration to do, as Patrick’s body is 65cm and incredibly waifish, and the minimee is 60cm and has some “junk in the trunk.”

Regency dress for a Puki. I’ve secured a headless Mattel Kelly doll, having been informed that they make very serviceable Puki dressform. This will be a challenging project, because of the scale, but I think it’s going to be fun. I’ve determined the best course of action is to use 7mm silk ribbon to bind all the hems. And it’ll all need to be hand-stitched, I think. Though I did once make a 1/3 scale fully functional wallet on my machine, so I might at least give it a go.
