I have been taken over by a sinus infection of some sort, so my equilibrium is totally off. I can’t hold the camera steady and concentrate on keeping myself upright, so, no photos in this post. Luckily, there’s not too much to document photographically this week. I can still sew, though a bit more slowly, and things are making some progress.
The Alan Rickman minimee heads are en route, which means that I’m going to have to really work hard to keep myself from rushing through all of my commissions so that I can devote all of my time and attention to his wardrobe. 18th century shirt and breeches are mocked up, but on hold for at least the early stages of my March/April commissions.
Helane has arrived and I’ve started patterns for Nautilus’s commission. The fabric is en route and the beads and other notions are arranged. I’m really excited about this one, as I’ve never worked with an MSD before and haven’t done too much 16th or 15th century garb recently, even for myself. (There are machinations, though, for a new caul with colorful embroidery and a new brown linen kirtle for me sometime prior to Pennsic! Provided I can keep myself from saying yes to all these intriguing commission requests that keep coming in–I’m already booked through May and keep getting PMs and emails.)
Ann14747 is making sweaters for Penelope! In return, I’m making a spencer jacket for her, and it’s all put together. It just needs hand-sewing, which, given the equilibrium thing may take a little while.
I’m awaiting my model for SailorLimaBean’s 19th century gown (Jane Eyre). All of the supplies (except buttons, which I’m still mulling over) are assembled.
TheBeautifulDoll’s commission is on hold while I experiment with different hemming techniques. We may be starting over.
