I’m nearing the end of my commission for TheBeautifulDoll. This weekend, I did some tiny machine scallops along the hem, which required stabilizer. It’s supposed to rinse away in water, but that wasn’t terribly successful. Besides, the wash away pen I used for marking darts didn’t go away either. So, I got to do the unexpected step of laundering. Here’s the dress all laid out to dry…

And the “beading” on the bodice (I ended up using hotfix crystals as they’re flat on the back and don’t poke out and just look odd):

I’ll be adding actual beaded embellishment to the sash and a hook and eye to the back and doing some last minute tweaking this week. I’m not entirely convinced by the sleeves (photos later, when I’m not supposed to be writing a short response essay for class)–they’ve gone through 2 iterations. Puffs look old-fashioned (in a bad way), fitted sleeves don’t seem able to stay up, but look fantastic when they do…
