Gown for TheBeautifulDoll is coming along nicely. After some fighting with the embroidery software, I called a truce and made the lace for the bodice using freemotion and decorative stitches instead. I’m much happier with the results–I think it’s way more in scale and delicate that I could have gotten using FSL embroidery on vilene. I discovered that the bust area may be a lot easier to put together by hand…currently, it’s pinned together, but I think I’ll have a lot more control of the final product with this method. Once that’s done, I’ll start beading.
I’ve been banned by my husband from selling my Johnny Depp minimee until he has the “By the Sea” outfit from Sweeney Todd. I got my wig from Blushed Roses the other day. I had hoped to have it all ready for the wig’s arrival, but Sat is way quicker at shipping than I am at playing with stretch fabric. The finishing on this one’s on hold while I work on the aforementioned beading…then I have to find/make socks and sock garters to complete the look.
Still fussing over Ann’s Spencer Jacket–no photogenic progress to report as yet.
In other news, my website’s been redesigned by xiayah of DoA and I’ve got a new look for this blog on the way. The blog changes should be painless and immediate, but expect a bit of “under-construction” and pardon my coding mess in the next week or two if you frequent my main site often.
