So I’m completely overwhelmed this week with deadlines. I’m two dozen buttons from completion on S–‘s dress, which I’d planned on having done last week, but the buttons haven’t come. Plus I had a snafu with my other commission (no measurements, and an incognito wearer) that’s making me regret slightly my offers of assistance to the museum. It’s hard to make a dress when your model leaves the city for days on end–they’ll be lucky if I can fit in the sewing before the event this weekend.
I have a few mini-papers, a big paper, a pathfinder, and a participant observation that are going to get in the way of meeting the deadline.
As regards sewing, I’ve captured Nel’s vintage swimsuit for Rainyverse and made a tiny bit of leeway on my DOA secret santa gifts. I don’t have any tinies or even medium-sized BJDs, so I’m just crossing my fingers that all the measurements I found on the net are accurate. Thank God for Haute Doll Magazine’s patterns (I’m not using them, but they helped confirm some unknown measurements).
As soon as December 11th has passed, I will be free to review French, revise a long paper, and sew. The latter being the most exciting. I’m going to be frantically creating Xmas gifts, getting really comfortable with my Des. SE’s embroidery features, and best of all, doing all the projects on Nel’s “to-be-made” list. And perhaps my DIM minimee “JD” will have arrived by then. I’ve got to get rid of all these rejected doll things (wigs, eyes, shoes.–I buy anything that looks promising, then Nel looks too pale or creepy in it…or her huge feet make it impossible to use), but can’t justify selling them until John Doe has been fully outfitted, too.
